Privacy Policy

Information pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

1. Overview

This privacy policy informs you about the nature, scope, and purpose of the processing of personal data on this website by:

Dagmar Ruckser Sejnova

_by dagmar

Aschaffenburg, Germany

dagmar@by-dagmar.com

(the "controller" for the purposes of the GDPR)."

2. Your rights as a data subject

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

•  Request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)

•  Request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)

•  Request deletion of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)

•  Request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

•  Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR)

•  Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

•  Withdraw consent at any time, with future effect (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

•  Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Germany, this is typically the data protection authority of the state (Bundesland) where you live, work, or where the alleged infringement occurred

3. Hosting and content delivery (Squarespace)

This website is hosted by Squarespace, Inc., 225 Varick Street, New York, NY 10014, USA. Squarespace processes technical data (such as IP address, browser type, referring page, date and time of access) in server log files to operate and secure the website. This processing is necessary for us to provide the website and is based on our legitimate interest in the stable and secure operation of our online services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

As Squarespace is a US-based provider, data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Squarespace participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection for such transfers.

4. Cookies

This website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function (e.g. session management) and do not require consent. Others — such as analytics or embedded-content cookies — are only set with your prior consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time via the cookie banner on this site.

5. Website analytics (Squarespace Analytics)

We use Squarespace's built-in analytics feature to understand how visitors use this website (e.g. pages visited, time on site, referral source). This is used in aggregate/anonymised or pseudonymised form where possible.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained via the cookie banner, where the analytics feature relies on cookies or similar technologies; otherwise our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. Contact and download forms

When you fill out a form on this website (e.g. to get in touch, or to download a guide, the Jargon Buster, or the Media Partner Directory), we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, and any message content.

•  Purpose: to respond to your enquiry, or to deliver the requested download

•  Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

•  Retention: your data is kept only as long as necessary to handle your enquiry, unless you separately sign up to our newsletter (see Section 7)

7. Newsletter (Squarespace Email Campaigns)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use Squarespace's built-in email marketing tool (Squarespace Email Campaigns) to send it. We collect your email address and, where provided, your name.

•  We use a double opt-in process: after signing up, you will receive a confirmation email and must actively confirm your subscription before any newsletter is sent.

•  Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

•  You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter email, or by contacting us directly.

•  Retention: your data is stored for as long as you remain subscribed, and deleted upon unsubscribing, subject to any legal retention obligations.

8. Embedded third-party content

This website may embed content from third-party services. When such content is embedded, the respective provider may process personal data (such as your IP address) independently of us, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

8.1 YouTube videos

Embedded YouTube videos are provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (a subsidiary of Google LLC, USA). When a YouTube video is embedded and played, YouTube may set cookies and collect data about your device and viewing behaviour.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained via the cookie banner before the video loads.

8.2 Google Fonts

If this website uses Google Fonts, and they are loaded dynamically from Google's servers rather than hosted locally, your browser connects to Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC to retrieve the font files, which involves transmitting your IP address.

8.3 Calendly (or similar scheduling tool)

If this website embeds a scheduling tool such as Calendly to let you book a call, that provider processes the data you enter (name, email, selected time slot) directly, independent of us, in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Legal basis: performance of a contract / pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for the booking itself; consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for any cookies set by the embed before you interact with it.

9. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by applicable statutory retention obligations (e.g. German commercial and tax law retention periods for invoices and business correspondence, typically 6 or 10 years).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, tools, or legal requirements. The current version is always available on this page.
